A team of Kerui Refractory experts visited Rusal for on-site technical guidance and deepened refractory cooperation in September 2025. A Chinese technical team inspected the refractory linings at Rusal’s roaster and petroleum coke rotary kiln and provided recommendations to the customers.
Kerui Team Visited Rusal in September 2025
In mid-September, Kerui Refractory sent a team of five technical experts to Rusal for a two-week in-depth technical visit and on-site guidance.
- Participants: General Manager, Business Manager Serina, Chief Technical Engineer, and others.
- Main Purpose: Assist customers to inspect and repair.

Roaster and Rotary Kiln Inspection in September 2025
The visit focused on the refractory products use in two key Rusal kiln parts: the roaster and petroleum coke rotary kiln. All refractory bricks used in these equipment are sourced from Kerui Refractory.
At the Rusal production base, the Kerui team, through professional testing, on-site guidance, and technical training, helped the customer optimize their refractory material usage, effectively extending the lifespan of their equipment and providing a solid foundation for the stable production of this international aluminum giant.

Kerui Refractory Lining Products Used
All refractory bricks used in Rusal’s roasting furnace production workshop are sourced from Kerui Refractory. These bricks maintain stable performance in high-temperature environments, ensuring the long-term, stable operation of the aluminum smelting equipment.
Similarly, all refractory materials for Rusal’s calcined petroleum coke rotary kilns are sourced from Kerui Refractory. Calcined petroleum coke is an essential raw material in aluminum electrolytic cells, and its production process also faces high-temperature challenges, placing extremely high demands on refractory quality.
Products primarily include refractory bricks, refractory castables, refractory cement, and insulation bricks.
On-site Diagnosis: Accurately Assessing the Condition of Refractory Materials
During the two-week on-site visit, the kiln was shut down for inspection. Kerui Refractory’s team of technical experts conducted a comprehensive inspection and assessment of the refractory conditions at RUSAL’s facilities.
The expert team visited the roaster workshop and systematically inspected the condition of the refractory bricks lining the furnace. They measured brick wear, checked the integrity of brick joints, and assessed the overall condition of the refractory materials under high-temperature conditions.
At the petroleum coke rotary kiln, the expert team focused on the condition of the refractory lining. As a dynamic rotating device, the refractory lining of the rotary kiln is subjected not only to high temperatures but also to constant friction and mechanical stress from the material.
Kerui’s experts used specialized tools to measure the thickness of the refractory bricks, recorded wear data for different areas, and collected key parameters such as kiln surface temperature.
Professional Guidance: Optimizing Refractory Usage
Based on the on-site diagnostic results, Kerui Refractory’s team of technical experts provided a series of professional refractory usage recommendations and maintenance plans tailored to Rusal’s specific situation. These improvements significantly extended the service life of the rotary kiln lining.
Kerui’s experts also optimized the structural design of the refractory lining. This innovative structure effectively addressed the issue of premature failure of the castable insulation layer, extending the service life of the lining.
The Customer from Rusal Highly Praised Kerui’s Service
After the visit, Rusal highly praised the professionalism and service attitude of the Kerui Refractory team. While the Kerui Refractory team’s on-site technical guidance has concluded, the cooperation between the two companies in the industrial materials sector continues to deepen.
