Classification of Alkali Resistant Tiles
Acid resistant tiles are mainly divided into unglazed alkali-resistant tiles and glazed alkali-resistant tiles. See the difference and choose the suitable one.
Feature | Glazed Alkali Resistant Tiles | Unglazed Alkali Resistant Tiles |
---|---|---|
Surface | Covered with a fused glaze layer. | No additional coating; Natural surface. |
Stain/Alkali Resistance | Non-porous glaze resists stains and chemicals; Easy to clean. |
More porous; Requires sealant for stain resistance. |
Scratch/Wear Resistance | Hard glaze; Scratches can be visible if damaged. |
Consistently durable; Scratches are less noticeable. |
Slip Resistance | It can be slippery when wet unless textured/matte. | Naturally rough; offers better slip resistance. |
Aesthetics & Design | Wide variety of colors; Patterns and finishes (glossy/matte). |
Natural, uniform look; Limited to raw material colors. |
Thickness & Density | Generally thinner and less dense. | Thicker and more dense; Handles heavy use better. |
Maintenance | Easy to wipe clean;
Glossy surfaces may show stains. |
Requires sealing to prevent staining; Periodic resealing needed. |

Features Of Alkali Resistant Tiles
Can withstand long-term corrosion from strong alkaline solutions (such as sodium hydroxide and calcium hydroxide) without dissolution or structural damage. Resists chemical reactions with alkaline substance.
High surface hardness and excellent wear resistance allow it to withstand mechanical wear and impact.
Can withstand thermal shock and temperature fluctuations within a certain temperature range, making it suitable for hot water or hot alkaline environments.
Minimally affected by temperature and humidity fluctuations, maintaining stable dimensions and shape.
The smooth porcelain surface resists dirt accumulation, making it easy to clean and reduce bacterial growth.
Can withstand certain mechanical shocks and loads, making it suitable for heavy-duty industrial environments.

Proven Applications for Your Alkali-corrosion Industry
